To me, this is a song about waiting in hope for the time of meeting again - especially with regards to recent events. This was and still is my favorite track from Night Walk. I only just got around to actually attempting it. I wasn't able to afford a streaming ticket for Hololive Gamers Fes and I've been busy with editing this so I may be not updated with some news. Hopefully this message is still relevant. I am definitely thinking about making a Japanese version of this - using the original lyrics - for the JP bros. However, I just got a new job and I might not have time to work on it. I haven't been able to pay for Mio's membership for a couple of months now but I just got a new job so finally will be getting that back soon. I did consider doing that first instead of the EN translated one, but I decided not to. My reasoning here is that I want more Mio to be spread across the kaigainikis. I'm not sure about her popularity in JPN, but I know Mio isn't as popular in the west as the other holomems (though lately I've realized that it is actually shifting and Mio IS becoming more popular.) I just want to contribute to that end and to maybe help this song get the love it deserves. The words on the instrumental part at 03:04-03:26 are from Mio's other song Yakou Tsuushin, which is a song about remembering the past in a positive light and not being sad while being apart. -- Regarding the translation: I translated this myself as I could not find any translation at all and then attempted to verify it using multiple different machine translations and comparing what I had with what the MTL looked like. I was largely accurate and when there were discrepancies, back to the JP dictionary for me to really clarify it. I'm about 95% sure about the accuracy. Though it's very likely I may have missed some nuance. I apologize if I mistranslated anything and please do let me know. I've taken a few liberties with the translation in order to adhere more to the beat, while doing my best to remain faithful to what was originally being said in order to retain the message. For example, at 03:43 - "Like a guiding light" is absent from the original lyrics, but that is the message being conveyed at the end as Mio moves forward with hope. Another example is between 01:18 and 01:24. The original Japanese is: 呼吸も　温度も 失くした世界に / The line I put there is "In a world devoid of air and temperature" but it more accurately translates to "(in) a world without breathing and without heat." followed by: "Even now, the promise remains beautiful." -- This also happens to be the most extreme change I've made to the lyrics, the rest are as accurate as I can get to the original. Other TL notes: In the intro, "I'm sorry. Thank you. I tried to say it out loud. I can't reach it. I can't go back" which in Japanese, looks like this: ごめんね　ありがとう 声にしてみても 届かない　戻らない This actually has no explicit subject. It's not indicated who is saying these things or who or what they're directed towards. i.e. It translates more literally to: "I'm sorry. Thank you. Even if (I) tried to use (my) voice. (I) can't reach. (I) can't go back." I have simply inferred that it's the speaker(probably Mio) directing to towards a certain something (in this case, the star Sirius w/c represents the object of yearning in this song). You might have also noticed that I did not include "Even if" in the translation in the song. Yeah, that's a mistranslation on my part. It's supposed to be: "I'm sorry. Thank you. Even if I tried to say it out loud, I can't reach it. I can't go back." I don't think it's a major miss since the meaning remains, but it does make the first verse easier to understand. -- Regarding the Art: Art is AI-Generated using Yodayo's (Website) Holodayo XL model and some of them retouched by me. I really wanted to draw it myself but I'm just not good enough. This would have been very difficult for me and probably taken me months to just even get started. I understand that this may turn off some people. Sorry, I don't know what to say. I can't afford to commission an artist better than myself either.
